Bodegas Nímara is the result of an inherit culture from our ancestors, of man and woman who worked on an equal footing. Our virtue starts with the compromise of conserving the heritage that makes us different.

The hundred per cent of our lands is property of cultivation, bequeath from parents to sons with all the wealth of arts and knowledge about vine growing.

Everything started with self-supply: olive cultivation produced oil, wheat sow was used for producing bread, barley was used for the animals, working on vegetable garden produced lots of vegetable and vineyards were used for vine manufacture.

Just for an anecdote and for knowing us better we are going to tell you about our family: our great-great-grandfather Nicolás died at the age of 82, just two days after farming his vineyard. His son, the great-grandfather Nicolás (“Colasillo”) received a vineyard as dote of his marriage. His son, the grandfather Ángel, who learned to prune the vineyard gathering in the vine shoots his father mowed taking the scissors away from him while he was taking a break, also received a dote like his father. Ángel teach his son Manuel Ángel to prune and to word in the camp. Finally, his son Nicolás is interested in the practices of vine growing inherited from our ancestors.

Everyone in the family, including woman and kids, has always collaborated in the harvest, being exceptional to pick what has been an effort during the whole year. Years ago the presses where situated were located under the houses. Nowadays we can find 10 presses under our house, which can hold up 150,000 litres of wine.
The painful transport system in carts, elaboration and manual press give way to fusion of knowledges and traditional arts and the use of modern resources.
All this qualities let us to have friendly and permanent relationships with our family, which is formed by us and especially by our customers which, year after year, contribute us with a lot of energy to make us improve constantly.
